The Radiant Wellness Wheel: When You’re Medically Better But Healing Feels Incomplete

Finishing treatment is supposed to feel like relief. And sometimes, it does.
But for many women — myself included — it doesn’t.
Instead, there’s a quiet disconnect. A lingering sense that something still isn’t right.
You look “okay” on the outside. Appointments are over. Scans are clear. Life is technically moving forward. And yet, inside, something feels unfinished. That feeling can be confusing, isolating, and even scary.
“If you’ve been medically cleared but still don’t feel like yourself, it’s not because you’re doing something wrong — it’s because your whole life shifted, and no one gave you a map.”
If you’ve technically healed or been medically cleared but still don’t feel like yourself, it’s not because you’re failing at recovery. It’s because healing doesn’t always end when treatment does.
When I use the word "treatment" here, I’m talking about any formal chapter of care — medical treatment, recovery programs, surgeries, or other interventions — where you’re told you’re “done,” but life doesn’t feel resolved. Sometimes, that’s when the deeper work begins.
When Healing Changes More Than Your Body
After my own health crisis, I didn’t just lose my hair — I lost my sense of who I was.
Even though I eventually rebuilt my health and spent years studying integrative health, trauma healing, gut health, and women’s wellness, I remember what it felt like to look fine on the outside while quietly falling apart inside.
I watched myself — and so many other women — focus on fixing one piece at a time, hoping it would bring everything else back into place.
Whether it was a new diet, a workout plan, a supplement, or a routine, each carried the hope that this would finally make life feel normal again. Meanwhile, the bigger picture was being missed. Identity shifted. Relationships changed. Energy faded. Joy felt distant — or even unsafe.
What I saw, again and again, was women doing everything “right,” yet still feeling scattered, exhausted, or disconnected from themselves. I didn’t want other women to stumble around as long as I did.
I wanted to help light the way back — not to a former version of themselves, but to a grounded, whole version of who they are now. That’s why I built the Radiant Wellness Wheel. Not as a fix or as a checklist, but as a way to see the whole picture when life feels fragmented.
What the Radiant Wellness Wheel Is (and Isn’t)
Health and wellness are about so much more than exercise or what we eat. The Radiant Wellness Wheel is a self-reflection tool that gently guides you back into a relationship with the whole of your life — physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual.

This isn’t about perfection. It isn’t about optimizing everything at once. And it isn’t about fixing yourself. It’s about:
Noticing patterns
Staying curious
Making intentional, supportive shifts
The Wheel looks at life through a few key areas — not to overwhelm you, but to help you see:
where things feel supported
where they feel out of sync
and where focused care could make the biggest difference right now
You don’t need to work on all of these at once. Most women notice one or two areas quietly calling for attention — and that’s often where relief begins.
The Nine Areas of the Radiant Wellness Wheel
Joy & Contentment
After adversity, joy doesn’t snap back overnight. Sometimes healing means learning how to sit with grief, honor what was lost, and slowly allow contentment — and even gratitude — back into your life when it feels safe to do so.
For many women, joy can feel unfamiliar or even risky at first. If that’s you, there’s nothing wrong with you. It’s part of learning how to feel again.
Meals & Nutrition
Nutrition often feels like the most familiar entry point in healing — but it’s not just about eating “right.”
It’s about giving your body the building blocks it needs to repair, support immunity, fuel your brain, and rebuild the gut — so you can feel more like yourself again, not merely functional.
Movement & Exercise
Movement after a health crisis is about re-learning your body.
It’s about meeting it where it is. Restoring safe movement patterns.Building strength and stamina with respect instead of force.
Environment
Your environment includes the physical toxic load your body carries — plastics, chemicals, air quality, everyday exposures, and even the light you’re exposed to throughout the day, which affects your circadian rhythm.
It’s also emotional. Where you spend time and who you spend it with. How your spaces make you feel. Your environment can either support healing or quietly drain it.
Purpose
Purpose is often one of the deepest losses after a health crisis. When identity and direction are disrupted, grief shows up. Questions surface. Old roles may no longer fit.
Reconnecting with purpose doesn’t require a grand mission. Sometimes it starts with meaning, curiosity, or contribution — one step at a time.
Social & Relationships
Relationships and connection play a powerful role in healing. Adversity often changes how we relate to others. Community becomes not just helpful — but essential, even if it looks different than it did before.
Loneliness has real health impacts, which is why tending to connection matters more than many people realize.
Play & Creativity
Play and creativity help heal trauma, support problem-solving, lift mood, and keep the brain and spirit flexible. This isn’t indulgent. It’s restorative — and protective for long-term health.
Finances
Financial stress directly affects health, especially after medical expenses. Even small awareness shifts — like tracking spending — can reduce stress and restore a sense of agency more than people expect.
Spirituality
Spirituality helps many people find meaning, perspective, and connection. It can shift us from fear toward love and remind us that we’re part of something larger — especially when life feels uncertain.

None of these areas live in isolation. A shift in one often affects the others — which is why the Wheel works as a whole. This is not a test. It isn’t a scorecard. And there is no “good” or “bad” Wheel. Your Wheel is a living snapshot — a reflection of your lived experience in this moment.
